Seting up a test enviorment to try out a large scale nortel replacement. So far i've gotten our nortel sets to work as extensions by editing the unistim.conf file and the extension_custom.conf file. But I haven't been able to get voicemail to work on my unistim devices or even have them show up as destinations through the freepbx gui. Ie, inbound route destination, etc. Should i be setting these up as custom extensions instead? If so what fields do i use? Note all of our SIP devices are working fine.
All the above features are usuable. You need to setup extensions in FreePBX for your unistim phones defined in unistim.conf. I've done this using 'Other (Custom) Device' in the extensions module, not extension_custom.conf, however I've noticed the voicemail is a little flakey with the unistim driver.
It works on incoming calls, but not extension to extension or calls from a directory to extension. I ended up making virtual extensions as the primary extensions and added a follow me to the unistim extensions made with 'Other (Custom) Device'. This way voicemail works as expected. The other thing I've noticed is that unistim isn't very stable under version 11, way better with 1.8 in my experience.
